Viral keratitis

A viral keratitis is typically caused by one of three agents:

  • herpes simplex
  • herpes zoster
  • adenovirus (secondary to adenoviral conjunctivitis)

although it may also sometimes occur with cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus (1)
