Herpes zoster keratitis
Herpes zoster keratitis may occur as part of the acute stage of herpes zoster ophthalmicus. Involvement of the nose is predictive for subsequent corneal ulceration.
The corneal ulceration is dendritic in shape and is associated with:
- corneal anaesthesia
- lid deformities, which predispose to chronic keratitis
