Cerebrospinal fluid protein may be elevated in the following conditions:
- Guillain-Barre
- tuberculous meningitis
- fungal meningitis
- bacterial meningitis
- viral encephalitis
- cerebral abscesses
- granulomatous cerbral vasculitis
- neurosyphilis
- subdural haematoma
- malignancy
- hypothyroidism
- diabetes mellitus
- Froin's syndrome
- motor neurone disease
