Froin's syndrome
Froin syndrome is a phenomenon characterized by the triad of:
- cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) xanthochromia
- markedly elevated protein, and
- hypercoagulation
Foin's syndrome is a sign of blockage of CSF flow in the spine. The commonest causes are:
- advanced spinal tumour
- spinal meningitis
