Three types of cryoglobulinaemia are recognised:

type I:

  • monoclonal cryoglobulin
  • 25% of cases
  • type II:
    • polyclonal cryoglobulin
    • monoclonal rheumatoid factor
    • 25% of cases

  • type III:
    • polyclonal cryoglobulin
    • polyclonal rheumatoid factor
    • 50% of cases
