Authoring team

The trial evidence for the use of digoxin in heart failure comes from three main sources:

  • evidence that withdrawal of digoxin from patients with heart failure results in increased symptoms and increased hospital admissions:
    • SOLVED trial
    • RADIANCE trial

  • evidence that digoxin improves symptoms but does not reduce mortality in heart failure:
    • Digitalis Investigation Group (DIG) trial
