Atypical presentations of thyrotoxicosis
These may include:
- atrial arrhythmias in middle aged patients
- severe proximal myopathy with normal CK values
- deterioration or unmasking of myasthenia gravis
- hypokalaemic periodic paralysis - especially in orientals
- chronic diarrhoea
- hypercalcaemia
- osteoporosis
- gynaecomastia
