Heart size - the size of the heart in this condition is variable. A large defect results in an enlarged left atrium and ventricle, right ventricle and an enlarged pulmonary artery. A small defect may not result in any cardiac enlargement.

The lung fields in this condition may be radiologically variable - if there is a small defect then the lung fields may be normal, but a large defect may result in plethoric lung fields.
