Aetiology
Physiological bow knees occur up to about the age of 2-3 years, when it resolves spontaneously.
If serious in young children, causes to consider include:
- rickets
- scurvy
- Blount disease
- Paget's disease of bone
In the elderly, osteoarthritis should be considered.
