Secondary arthritis may be caused by damage to the bone following:
- infection
- Paget's disease
- aseptic necrosis:
- corticosteroids
- sickle cell disease
- slipped femoral epiphysis
- Perthe's disease
- haemophilic arthritis
- SLE
