Langerhans cell histiocytosis includes a variety of clinical syndromes including, in decreasing severity:

  • Letterer-Siwe disease
  • Hand-Schuller-Christian disease
  • eosinophilic granuloma of bone

There is considerable overlap between these presentations, and more commonly Langerhans cell histiocytosis is used as a generic description for them all.
