Roseola infantum

Roseola is a benign condition is most probably due to infection with human herpes virus type 6. It is most common in infants between 6 and 18 months; the clinical condition does not occur in adults.

There are three species of the human herpesvirus in the Roseolovirus genus: HHV-6A (associated with thyroiditis), HHV-6B (roseola), and HHV-7 (roseola). These are part of the Herpesvirinae family and Betaherpesvirinae subfamily (2)
