The anterior cardiac veins are a series of 2-5 small veins which run roughly horizontally and to the right across the anterior surface of the right ventricle and its infundibulum. They pass into the atrioventricular groove on the sternocostal surface of the heart. From here, they pass deeply to open into the right atrium. A common vein may link the smaller veins before entering the chamber.
The anterior cardiac veins contribute minimally to the drainage of the outflow tract of the right ventricle.
