Many patients are asymptomatic and are diagnosed following discovery of an abnormality in bleeding time during peri - operative investigation.

Presentation is often of a mild haemophilia with bleeding following mild trauma or surgery. Haemarthroses, soft tissue haematomas, epistaxis and menorrhagia may occur.

Bleeding tends to become less severe in later life.
