Impetigo neonatorum is a bullous impetigo of newborn infants due to staphylococcal infection. It is highly contagious and potentially lethal. The lesions may be quite extensive and be accompanied by systemic toxicity.

Systemic treatment with erythromycin or flucloxacillin is required urgently. The patient should be isolated from other infants until fully recovered.
