The drugs used in the treatment of the chronic phase of CML are:

  • imatinib
  • alfa interferon
  • hydroxyurea
  • busulphan
  • newer tyrosine kinase inhibitors - Dasatinib, Nilotinib for imatinib-resistant CML (1)

Transformed CML may respond to chemotherapy regimes developed for acute leukaemias.
