Kulchitsky cells

Kulchitsky cells are endocrine cells characterised by a granular or pale pink cytoplasm. They are widely distributed in the gastrointestinal tract.

Because of their apparent similarity to the chromaffin cells of the adrenal medulla, they also became referred to as enterochromaffin cells.
