Phenylbutazone is a congener of aminopyrine, C19 H20 N2 O2, having analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and mild uricosuric properties.

It is used in the treatment of gout, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other rheumatoid conditions.

It may cause aplastic anaemia.
