Hydronephrosis

Hydronephrosis is an aseptic distension of the renal pelvis and calyces of the kidney with urine. It may result from conditions causing bladder outflow obstruction, or from congenital stenosis of the ureters - see pelvic hydronephrosis.

A complication is atrophy of the kidney parenchyma.
