Uhthoff's phenomenon is a temporary increase in the severity of symptoms of a demyelinating disease that occur with an increase in temperature. It is due to conduction impairment.

This phenomenon may be experienced by patients with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, typically reported as a worsening of symptoms in a hot bath, or after exercise.
