Urethra (urethral discharge)

This occurs when there is urethritis usually caused by one of two organisms:

  • Early Gonorrhoea infection - discharge is purulent
  • Chlamydia trachomatis - discharge is muco-purulent

The discharge is often more copious in the morning when urine has not been voided for a few hours.
