This is diagnosed at laparoscopy, with infusion of dye into the uterus. Normally the dye leaks out of each of the tubes - failure to do so indicates some sort of blockage.
The treatment here is very dependent on the extent of the disease. Surgical options such as salpingolysis and salpingostomy have very variable success rates. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is becoming an increasingly popular treatment.
