Lymphoedema praecox

Lymphoedema praecox is applied to primary lymphoedema which develops after birth but before the age of 35 years. It is the commonest presentation of congenital lymphoedema, often occurring around puberty.

Women are affected more than men. Swelling usually develops in the lower limbs, either unilaterally or bilaterally.
