The following strategies have been shown to work in keeping practitioners up-to-date:
- learn how to practice evidence-based medicine - look for and apply evidence-based medicine reviews - apply evidence-based guidelines developed by colleagues - use clinical audit and feedback to find out what you're doing (right or wrong) - seek advice from a respected teacher who has learned EBM - have visits from non-commercial experts to inform and encourage evidenced-based ways of caring for patients - take a mini-sabbatical or preceptorship somewhere where EBM is practised
