Ethmoiditis (acute)

Authoring team

Acute ethmoidal sinusitis is seldom seen as a separate clinical entity in adults but tends to occur in conjunction with frontal or maxillary sinusitis.

Discriminatory clinical features include:

  • pain between the eyes
  • frontal headaches

Specific treatment is rarely required. The ethmoiditis usually resolves with that of the acute infection.
