Urethro-phobia

Authoring team

Urethro-phobia is a term coined by genitourinary physicians to describe the effect of non-specific urethritis in patients with an introverted personality, the implication being that there is a strong psycho- somatic element.

The patient may persistently re-present with recurrent symptoms, in the absence of any real organic pathology.
