Zip fastener injuries

If the skin of the penis is caught in a trouser zip:

  • anaesthetise the injury with 1/2% lignocaine
  • undo the zip when anaesthesia effective
  • if this fails, use pliers to break the diamond connecting the the two halves of the zip bar, allowing the zip to be taken apart
