Depression is used anatomically to describe the movement inferiorly or lowering down of a body part. Thus, a depressor muscle would be one that draws down part of the body, and a depressed skull fracture indicates a break in the skull bone with a piece compressed downwards relative to the surrounding bone.
Depression is the opposite of elevation.
