Inflammatory synovial fluid
This is characterised by the presence an increased number of white cells, usually greater than 2000 WBCs/microlitre, with more than 75% neutrophils.
Examples include:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- psoriatic arthritis
- spondyloathropathies
- Juvenile Chronic Arthritis
- Gout
- Pseudogout
- Systemic lupus erythematosus
- Septic arthritis
