Lesions outside the oesophagus
Dysphagia may be caused by lesions outside the wall of the oesophagus:
- mediastinal masses
- retrosternal goitre
- bronchial carcinoma
- Ortner's syndrome (left atrial enlargement)
- thoracic aortic aneurysm
- pericardial effusion
- dysphagia lusoria
