Lesch-Nyhan syndrome
Lesch-Nyhan syndrome is an X-linked recessive disorder that is characterised by an enzyme defect in purine metabolism (reduced hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyl transferase) and excessive uric acid production and excretion.
This syndrome is only fully expressed in males.
