Aetiology
Damage to the median nerve may occur at various sites:
- humerus - from a supracondylar fracture - especially in children
- cubital fossa - from pronator syndrome, compression of flexor digitorum superficialis
- forearm - involving the anterior interosseous nerve
- wrist - carpal tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel surgery, slashed wrist
