Femoral triangle

The femoral triangle is situated in the anterior, superior part of the thigh. Its boundaries are:

  • medially: medial border of adductor longus
  • laterally: medial border of sartorius
  • superiorly: inguinal ligament

In the floor of the triangle are, from medial to lateral:

  • adductor longus
  • pectineus
  • iliopsoas

Its roof is formed by fascia.

The contents of the femoral triangle are, from medial to lateral:

  • femoral vein
  • deep femoral lymph nodes
  • femoral artery
  • femoral nerve
