Treatment

Authoring team

Treatment of CDH can be divided into three strategies according to the chronology of presentation:

  • in the newborn
  • in those age 6 months to 6 years
  • in those more than 6 years old

The aim of treatment is to reduce the hip and to keep it reduced. Normal development should then occur, providing an early diagnosis has been made.
