Aetiology
The causes of lens dislocation include:
- trauma - most common
- hereditary:
- coloboma of the lens
- homocystinuria:
- classically downward dislocation
- 5% of cases
- Marfan's syndrome
- classically superior and nasal dislocation
- Marchessani's syndrome
