Treatment
Treatment is by surgical excision after chemotherapeutic reduction of size.
Rhabdomyosarcomas are relatively radioresistant but radiotherapy may be used in palliative treatment.
A rhabdomyosarcoma that arises in childhood may be treated by a combination of surgery - either excision or biopsy, high dose radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
