Criteria for referral/admission

Authoring team

Refer immediately if there is any risk of suicide, self-harm or harm to the baby

  • Moderate or mild depression should be managed by the GP with the support of:
  • the health visitor
  • the community psychiatric team
  • CPN or clinical psychologist may be able to help with cognitive therapy
