Defects of the central nervous system
Ultrasound is the screening and diagnostic tool recommended for central nervous system fetal abnormalities.
The following defects can be reliably diagnosed by ultrasound:
- anencephaly
- hydrocephaly
- encephalocoele
- microcephaly
- spina bifida
