Vitamin B2
Riboflavin is the alternative name for vitamin B2. It is an essential constituent of the prosthetic groups FMN and FAD.
Riboflavin can be found in eggs, milk and liver.
Absorption takes place within the jejunum by secondary active transport along with sodium ions.
A deficiency of vitamin B2 results in arabioflavinosis.
