  • monitoring and reduction of dust levels
  • adequate ventilation
  • respirators should be worn
  • regular chest X-rays

Early detection and removal from exposure is important. If tuberculosis develops, treat promptly and adequately:

  • discourage cigarette smoking
  • promptly treat chest infections with antibiotics
