Diagnostic criteria
The criteria for the diagnosis of transient epileptic amnesia are:
- a history of repeated episodes of transient amnesia affected anterograde and/or retrograde memory
- there should be no other cognitive impairment
- there should be evidence of epilepsy:
- EEG
- co-occurence with other seizure types
- clear improvement on anti-epileptic therapy
