Investigations
The investigation of a suspected case of spondylotic cervical myelopathy should include:
- MRI and CT myelography in neck extension and flexion should show impingement of the thecal sac with obliteration of the CSF space
- if multiple sclerosis is suspected then MRI of the brain with CSF analysis for oligoclonal bands should be performed
- motor neurone disease can be investigated with EMG and nerve conduction studies
- B12 and folate
