This is observed in patients with lesions of the non-dominant parietal lobe.
It can be be tested by asking the patient to fill in the numbers on an empty clock face. If the patient has a right sided parietal lesion (assuming this is the non-dominant lobe) then the patient may only fill in the numbers on the left hand side. Spatial neglect may also occur, but less commonly, with dominant parietal lobe lesions.
