A plexopathy should be considered in any patient who has motor and sensory symptoms and signs which do not fit with:

  • the distribution of any specific nerve roots
  • the distribution of any specific peripheral nerve

Two main nerve plexuses serve the upper and lower limbs:

  • brachial plexus: clinically most significant
  • lumbosacral plexus
