Interferon beta
Interferon beta is a subgroup of the interferon peptides containing at least 3 members. It is produced from a range of leukocytes. Its in vitro functions include:
- production of an antiviral state
- cytostatic for tumour cells
- stimulation of B lymphocytes
- pyretic
Interferon beta-1b can be used in multiple sclerosis.
