Points of note about the pharmacokinetics of Gabapentin:

  • it does not induce liver enzymes
  • it does not bind to plasma proteins
  • half-life is 5-7 hours
  • dose should be adjusted on the basis of clinical symptoms and signs as well as seizure response
  • it does not interact with other antiepileptic drugs or reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives
