Slowly progressive disorder
If the patient presents with a slowly progressive disorder suggestive of multiple sclerosis then then a diagnosis of MS is made if:
- the CSF shows oligoclonal bands, and
- lesions, disseminated in space, are seen on the MRI, and
- lesions, disseminated in time, are seen on the MRI, or there is continued progression for 1 year
