Posterior surface
The posterior surface of the clavicle is associated with the following structures, from medial to lateral:
- sternohyoid muscle; originates from the posteromedial surface and adjoining manubrium sternii
- subclavian vessels; directly posterior
- lateral cord of brachial plexus; directly posterior
- nutrient artery to clavicle:
- branch of suprascapular artery
- enters bone running laterally
