Inferior surface
The inferior surface of the clavicular shaft has the following features, from medial to lateral:
- costoclavicular ligament; a small depression in the bone
- groove for subclavius muscle:
- extends as far laterally as conoid tubercle
- a nutrient foramen lies within this groove
- clavicipectoral fascia attached to the periphery of the groove
- conoid tubercle; site of origin of the conoid ligament
- trapezoid ridge:
- roughened
- passes obliquely anteriorly and laterally from conoid tubercle
- origin of trapezoid ligament
