Heberden's nodes
Heberden's nodes are a lumpy malformation of the distal interphalangeal joint due to nodular osteoarthritis. They are extremely common in postmenopausal women. They represent the formation of osteophytic lumps at the joint margins. Similar deformities at the proximal interphalangeal joints are called Boucher's nodes.
